About Whitley Neill Raspberry Gin
Distilled at the City of London Distillery ― the first gin distillery in the city in more than 2 centuries ― Whitley Neill Raspberry Gin is crafted under the watchful eye of 8th-generation distiller Johnny Neill. It’s made with 9 botanicals: juniper, coriander seed, cassia bark, orris root, angelica root, licorice, sweet orange, lemon, and raspberry. The 86-proof gin has a solid backbone of juniper and licorice that is balanced with fruity and notes from Scottish raspberries, along with a zesty, citrusy brightness. Launched in 2018, this expression joins the growing lineup of Whitley Neill gins that are known to be extremely versatile. This one pairs particularly well with tonic but can serve as a base for a number of contemporary cocktails.

About Whitley Neill
Johnny Neill comes from a family with a rich tradition in distilling. As a child, he came upon a box of gin bottles in his grandmother’s house and wanted to learn more about the liquid that his family had been making since 1762. He learned about the impact various botanicals have on spirits and was instantly drawn to spirit-making. He set out to create a gin that would honor the tradition and passion of his family, with an exotic and modern twist. To that end, he added the baobab fruit and South African Cape gooseberry, which added a South African dimension to the spirit.
About Gin
According to Winston Churchill, “The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen’s lives and minds than all the doctors in the Empire,” referring to the British officers using it to treat malaria in India.
Initially made for medicinal purposes, gin gets most of its flavor from the juniper berries added after the distillation process. It sure has come a long way from the Middle Ages, with the introduction of new botanicals, fruits, and spices, bringing it closer to people of all flavor varieties.
