About Quackenbush White Rum
Two super friendly lads stand behind The Albany Distilling Company, founded in early 2011 by John Curtin and Richard Sicari. Their premier product was bourbon, followed by rum and other exciting spirits. The Quackenbush White Rum is an unaged rum made from fancy Caribbean molasses and Hudson River water. According to co-owner Richard Sicari, the molasses is “fermented and distilled in a really challenging way,” resulting in a decadent cocktail rum spirit nerds go mad for. Coming in at 40% ABV, the Quackenbush boasts flavors of rich molasses and delivers a clean and crisp finish.

About Rum
Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.
We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.
