Madre Mezcal is created at the Palenque Familia Blas, nestled in the rolling hills of the Oaxaca. Hand-made by mezcaleros in open air palanques, local water and natural yeast from the air are used in the production. Their high quality, small-batch artisanal mezcal tastes like the earth it comes from.

Madre Mezcal is distilled from agave Espadin and agave Cuishe using a family heirloom copper pot still. These agaves are roasted in an earthen pit, before being fermented with local well-water and wild mountain yeast.
