About J.P. Wiser’s Old Fashioned Whisky Cocktail
This Canadian distillery has one of the most exciting backstories out there. The founder, J.P. Wiser, was a New York native cattle breeder who moved to Canada in the 1870s, worked at his uncle’s distillery, and entered the business solely to secure grain to feed his cows. He was even considered a pioneer of the trade.
Luckily, by the 1900s, J.P. Wiser’s was already a worldwide whiskey enterprise that continues to produce unique expressions to this day.
What we have here is a ready-to-serve cocktail classic. This tasty concoction is made from double-column distilled 3-years-old corn whisky, 8% Red Path sucrose, and perfectly matched aromatic bitters and orange essence. It’s a smooth and full-bodied drink, bottled at 35% ABV.
About J.P. Wiser’s
In the 19th century, John Philip Wiser emigrated from New York to Ontario, Canada. His maternal grandparents had purchased a distillery in Ontario and in 1857, Wiser became the distillery’s manager. Within five years, Wiser had purchased the distillery from his grandparents and eventually, transformed it into of the largest and most prestigious distilleries in the country. Today, Wiser’s Whisky continues to be handmade using the same traditional methods envisioned by J.P Wiser over a century ago.
About Cocktails
The history of cocktails dates back to the not-so-good days of prohibition when people started to mix drinks trying to make the homemade or bootlegged liquor drinkable.
But things have changed since then, and cocktails have become increasingly popular with modern pop culture, from classics like Martini, Old Fashioned, or Negroni, to the more festive versions like Margaritas and Mojitos becoming staples in most bars.
