About Hamilton Jamaican Pot Still Gold Rum
Sugarcane has been the main crop at the Worthy Park Estate since 1670. Hamilton Jamaican Pot Still Gold Rum is distilled right there, in the heart of Jamaica, where Worthy Park grows its own cane and processes it in their famously efficient sugar mill that turns the sugarcane into sugar and molasses. Hamilton Jamaican Pot Still Black Rum is a blend of extra light, light, and heavy pot-still rum that is distilled from fermented molasses. The rum is imported to the Five & 20 Spirits distillery in Westfield, NY, where it is diluted with filtered well water from the property and bottled at 93 proof. Apart from caramel coloring (gold tint caramel from Sethness, only 3 drops per bottle), nothing is added to the finished product that’s funky, tropical, and fruity with notes of caramel, molasses, and ripe fruit.

About Rum
Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.
We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.
