Ed Hamilton, known as the “Minister of Rum”, is a true scholar and ambassador of the spirit. His brand is built on quality, accessibility, and transparency. Hamilton Navy Strength Rum is a blend that consists of high-proof Jamaican pot still rum from the Worthy Park Estate (40%) and high-proof aged Guyanese rum (60%). The first clocks in at 170 proof, the latter 154. After the two rums are imported, they arrive at the Five & 20 Distillery in Westfield, NY, where they are combined and stirred slowly for 48 hours before being diluted to 114 proof with filtered well water. While it’s primarily meant for spirit-forward cocktails, it’s a versatile spirit that’s perfect for sipping as well.
