Heather Manley was enamored with the spirits industry and the potential for innovation that it held. In 2013, she founded Crooked Water and partnered with the award-winning Yahara Bay Distillery in Madison, Wisconsin. Several years later, the lineup that started with a port cask-finished bourbon has expanded to include rye, vodka, gin, brandy, liqueur, and ready-to-pour cocktails. Mineapple is an apple brandy that is made from Honeycrisp apples (the official state fruit of Minnesota), then finished in first-fill bourbon casks and first-fill port wine barrels. Bottled at 86 proof, it’s a modern take on apple brandy that’s smooth and perfect for any season ― though it does scream “Fall”.
