About Catedral de Mi Padre Mezcal Mexicano
Jeff and Sydney Block are the father-daughter duo behind Catedral De Mi Padre Mezcal. Having lived in Oaxaca for 8 years, they fell in love with both mezcal and the way the famous Mexican spirit connects religion, culture, and family in Mexico. In 2022, they launched the brand, partnering with 6 maestros mezcaleros from Oaxaca, releasing 6 different mezcals: 4 single varietal expressions and 2 ensemble mezcals. Each of these embraces the rich tradition and is handmade to deliver a true farm-to-bottle experience. Catedral De Mi Padre Mezcal Mexicano is made by Adela, who took over her sick father’s job at a distillery when she was only 14 years old, earning her the nickname “The Mezcal Girl”. Since then, her father has recovered and they produce some of the finest artisanal mezcal together. This expression is double-distilled from agave Mexicano using only traditional methods.

About Mezcal
Mezcal is a distilled spirit made from roasted agave plants between two days and two weeks, which gives it a distinct smokey flavor.
What scotch is for whisk(e)y, mezcal is for tequila.
It can be made from different types of agave in different parts of Mexico, but most of it (60%) comes from the state of Oaxaca. Mezcal offers a large diversity of flavor profiles and ranges between 40 and 55% ABV.
